For me last night and someday still steal my heart with folk esque beats and melodies on this album but songs such as alone together show the strokes truly versatile musical style giving to the listener a sense of hard rock almost bordering on light metal type stuff far from the whimsical nature of someday which it follows. The us cd version of the album replaced new york city cops with a newly recorded song when it started while the vinyl edition retained the original track list. Like most music on vinyl releases it sounds great.

Im unable to directly compare to an original but if i had to bet my money on the best issue since the first press i would definitely go with this one. It was recorded at transporterraum in new york city with producer gordon raphael during march and april 2001.
